In his book Tokyo No Ie, French photographer Jeremie Souteyrat showcases the rarely seen residential architecture of houses in the famously fashionable Japanese city.

Tokyo No Ie, which translates to Tokyo Houses, showcases [suburban gems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-minamiazabu) rather than well-documented neighborhoods such as Shibuya and Shinjuku. Highlighting functionality and practicality, the [geometric designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kumagaya) are stunning to behold and are indicative of the urban center's forward-thinking nature. Souteyrat explains Japanese architects are more expressive due to "notions of architecture are liberal owing to the near non-existence of a legacy of buildings surviving from the past."

Featuring architectural marvels from firms including Atelier Tekuto, Atelier Takuo Iizuka, AH Architects, Architecton, onedesign, ALX and October the book of photography is sure to be a page-turner.
