But even beyond those with an irrational fear of germs -- or toilets, for that matter -- Toilet Foot offers an elegantly simple, easily installed solution to the [spread of bacteria in the bathroom](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chicago-faucet-company) and around the house. The inner workings of this toilet flusher are ingeniously simple: the Toilet Foot easily attaches to the valve at the bottom of a toilet tank, and a tube runs out from the tank to its step-on pump. When the pump is activated, it blows up a small balloon in the tank, causing the valve to float upwards and the toilet to flush. The toilet flusher can be one of the most germ-laden parts of a bathroom. Using a Toilet Foot in home bathroom thus limits the [spread of potentially harmful germs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dekoda-camera). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.2/10 - Popularity: 15% | Activity: 44% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Foot-activated Fixtures:** There is an opportunity for businesses to create foot-activated sinks, soap dispensers, and paper towel dispensers, to reduce the spread of germs. - **Smart Bathroom Technology:** Integrate foot-activated features into smart bathroom technology, such as voice-activated toilets and app-controlled lighting and temperature, for a completely touch-free and germ-free experience. - **Contactless Technology:** The use of contactless technology in public restrooms such as sensor-activated doors and motion-sensor flushing systems will reduce the spread of germs in high traffic areas. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Improvement:** Home improvement retailers can market these foot-activated toilet flushers as an easy-to-install, affordable solution to maintain a hygienic home environment. - **Public Restrooms:** Public restroom manufacturers have an opportunity to integrate contactless technology such as sensor-activated doors and motion-sensor flushing systems to increase hygiene and sanitation. - **Hospitality:** Hotels, restaurants, and other hospitality establishments can invest in touchless bathroom technology to provide a safer and more hygienic environment for their guests. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Hygienic Auto-Flushing Toilets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/close-the-lid-toilet.md) - [Hygienic Handsfree Toilet Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toilet-lid-closer.md) - [Powerful Vortex Toilet Bowls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twistflush-toilet.md) - [Health Tracker Toilet Clips](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/throne-one.md) - [Self-Flushing Smart Cat Toilets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-cat-toilet.md) - [Feature-Packed Smart Toilets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neolet.md) - [Smart Toilet Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-toilets.md) - [Hands-Free Door Handle Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/safe-lever-door-opener.md) - [Two-in-One Toilet Pods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/potty-pods.md)
