# Urinal Waterfalls Not as Gross as It Sounds, but Toilet Falls is Still Really Weird By Jessica Marcel | Published 2010-01-25 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toilet-falls References: [boingboing.net](http://www.boingboing.net/2010/01/24/overflowing-urinal-c.html) & [techeblog](http://www.techeblog.com/index.php/tech-gadget/toilet-falls-ensures-no-privacy) Urinals never seemed all that attractive to me. I really just thought of them as a functional thing. That was, however, before Toilet Falls, seen in the photo. Toilet Falls is a bathroom with a wall of non-functional urinals creating a waterfall on one wall. Steps lead through the water to a toilet at the end of the room. Toilet Falls is strange, very strange, and maybe even a little gross. But it’s a surprisingly inventive way to use urinals. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.6/10 - Popularity: 21% | Activity: 78% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Functional Art:** Creating everyday functional items, such as urinals, with an artistic twist can lead to unique designs and customer appeal. - **Interactive Design:** Designing interactive washrooms that allow for user engagement and a unique experience may add value to businesses. - **Eco-friendly Design:** Incorporating sustainable and eco-friendly features into washroom design can help businesses become more environmentally responsible. ### Who This Affects Most - **Architecture:** Architects and designers can push for innovative washroom designs to create functional art pieces that engage users. - **Hospitality:** Hotels, restaurants, and tourist attractions may benefit from incorporating unique and interactive washroom designs to create memorable experiences for guests. - **Green Technology:** Green technology firms can promote the use of eco-friendly materials in washroom design to reduce the environmental impact of washrooms. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Artfully Sculptured Textured Toilets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-formation-02.md) - [Light-Filled Public Restrooms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vivid-toilet-interior.md) - [Illuminated Public Artful Toilets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hiroo-east-park.md) - [Brutalist Smart Toilets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/formation-02.md) - [Futuristic Intelligent Toilets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/intelligent-toilet.md) - [Enclosed Japanese Park Toilets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toiletowa.md) - [Closed-Loop Bathing Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/upfall-shower.md) - [Water-Celebrating Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aqua-gallery.md) - [Powerful Vortex Toilet Bowls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twistflush-toilet.md)
