# Toaster Speaker Systems The TOAST! Speaker Dock Won't Burn Your iPhone By Michael Hines | Published 2012-01-03 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toast-speaker-dock References: [technabob](http://technabob.com/blog/2011/12/30/toast-iphone-dock/) & [tinyurl](http://tinyurl.com/7r4wxms) Most iDevice docks clash with the kitchen, but the TOAST! speaker dock would blend right in since it is designed in the shape of a retro stainless steel toaster and pumps out tunes the same way real toasters pop out brown bread. The TOAST! speaker dock has a three watt speaker and is powered by a Lithium-Ion battery. Volume is controlled by the nob in the front and with the plunger on the side appearing to be a decorative addition. Since iDevice docks are all-too-common nowadays, designers are having to find new ways to separate their work from the pack. The TOAST! speaker dock is a great example of a company thinking outside the box in order to attract consumers. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 23% | Activity: 57% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Kitchen](https://www.trendhunter.com/kitchen) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Kitchen-inspired Speaker Docks:** Creating speaker docks that mimic common kitchen appliances, such as toasters or blenders, can provide a unique and visually appealing product in a saturated market. - **Integration of Retro Aesthetics:** Incorporating retro design elements, like the stainless steel toaster shape, can add a nostalgic touch to modern technology and attract consumers seeking a blend of old and new. - **Alternative Volume Controls:** Exploring innovative volume control mechanisms, such as using a decorative plunger, can offer a fresh and interactive user experience in the competitive speaker dock industry. ### Where This Applies - **Consumer Electronics:** The consumer electronics industry can benefit from the integration of unique and visually appealing speaker docks that stand out from the crowd and attract tech-savvy consumers. - **Kitchen Appliance:** The kitchen appliance industry can explore new opportunities by incorporating speaker functionality into their products, providing consumers with multi-functional appliances that enhance their kitchen experience. - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can tap into the growing demand for retro-inspired technology products and offer speaker docks that not only produce high-quality sound but also serve as aesthetically pleasing decor pieces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Precision Touchscreen-Enabled Toasters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tineco-toasty-one.md) - [Multi-Position Bread Toasters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/taurus-toaster-30.md) - [Minimalist One-Slice Toasters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toast-appliance.md) - [Phone Charger-Infused Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/phone-chargerinfused-speaker.md) - [Speaker-Equipped Smartphone Docks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lexon-city-energy-pro.md) - [Modernized Retro Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-memory.md) - [Stealthy Multifunctional Speaker Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eko-system.md) - [Retro Sound Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/d32.md) - [Rocking Robotic Toaster Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/robot-toaster.md)
