The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles NES pays tribute to the iconic comic book and TV show with custom paint, controllers and a backlit top complete with pictures of each turtle. Fitzpatrick also worked on the console with another modder known as Custom NES Guy who has worked on both a Luigi and Castlevania NES consoles. Each controller on the TMNT Custom NES has a skin representing one of the four turtles. The little details help push this project over the top, such as the bronze controller plug-ins. Fitzpatrick has put the console up for sale on [eBay](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lastminute-auction) and it can (currently) be had for a bid of $1,300. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.8/10 - Popularity: 49% | Activity: 58% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/games) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Customized Retro Consoles:** Opportunity for console modders to create personalized and nostalgic gaming experiences for retro gamers. - **Nostalgic Accessories for Retro Gamers:** Potential for customized accessories, such as controllers and skins, that tap into the nostalgia of classic video game franchises. - **Limited Edition Consoles:** Increasing demand for niche and exclusive gaming products that provide collectors and gaming enthusiasts unique experiences. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Video Game Console Manufacturing:** Possibility for established console manufacturers to partner with customized modders to produce limited edition consoles. - **Gaming Merchandise and Accessories:** Opportunity for companies to produce and sell customized video game accessories and merchandise, tapping into nostalgic franchises. - **Online Auction and Resale Platforms:** Potential for auction and resale platforms, such as eBay and Facebook Marketplace, to capture high-end retro gaming collectors and enthusiasts. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Retro Platform Fighting Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-cowabunga-collection.md) - [Pizza-Themed Limited Game Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xbox-game-controller.md) - [Bright Edition Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/analogue-3.md) - [Nostalgic 90s-Inspired Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/analogue-3d-funtastic.md) - [See-Through Cartridge Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modretro-m64.md) - [Gaming Console Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mario-cart-coffe-table.md) - [Modernized 90s Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/analogue-3d-console.md) - [Cartoon Turtle Figurines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/teljesnegyzet.md) - [Tiny Retro Gamer Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/open-source-games-console.md)
