# Tent-Shaped Light Fixtures Tipi Floor Lamp Takes a Dramatic Form and Emits a Striking Stripey Glow By Amelia Roblin | Published 2013-04-11 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tipi-floor-lamp References: [leibal](http://leibal.com/products/lighting/tipi/) & [atelje-lyktan.se](http://www.atelje-lyktan.se/en/tipi-bollard) The contemporary Tipi Floor Lamp seems to draw inspiration from a pair of different sources. The first is suggested in its very name, as the Native American teepee; the second is in the form of the illuminator, which references its name, as well as the familiar shape of the conventional lampshade. Ateljé Lyktan uses timber to construct the frames of the intriguing pieces, finishing them either in white lacquer or leaving them with a lovely natural wood tone that's hand treated. Both models are weatherproof, enabling you to use the light fixtures to illuminate indoor as well as outdoor environments. The slatted assembly of the Tipi Floor Lamp emulates tepee construction and embodies a methodically assembled campfire look too. Its warm glow is wonderfully comforting. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.9/10 - Popularity: 17% | Activity: 2% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Contemporary Light Fixtures:** Opportunity to create innovative light fixtures that combine modern design with unique shapes and styles. - **Weatherproof Lighting:** Chance to develop lighting solutions that can be used both indoors and outdoors, providing versatility and convenience. - **Natural Material Finishes:** Potential to explore the use of timber and other natural materials to create light fixtures that bring a touch of nature into interior and exterior spaces. ### Who This Affects Most - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunities to create cutting-edge lighting fixtures that enhance the aesthetic appeal of interior spaces. - **Outdoor Lighting:** Opportunity to revolutionize outdoor lighting by developing weatherproof fixtures that combine style and functionality. - **Home Decor:** Chance to introduce unique and visually striking light fixtures that become statement pieces in home decor. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Outdoor Pavilion Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/teepee-pavilion.md) - [Tubular Totem-Like Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alma-light-totem-i.md) - [Tiltable Dimmable Lighting Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nod-lamp.md) - [Sculptural Connected Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-led-floor-lamp.md) - [Bonfire-Inspired Indoor Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iri-lamp.md) - [Raw Minimalist Pine Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hoop-table-lamp.md) - [Twisting Timber Lampshade Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twisted-lasercut-wooden-lampshade.md) - [Nature-Inspired Living Space Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moonlight-floor-lamp.md) - [Contemporary Modular Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/point-floor-lamp.md)
