# Felt and Feather Miniature Villages Tiny Sculptures from The Secret Nest By Elsa Blaine | Published 2008-12-07 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tiny-nest-villages-the-secret-nests-miniature-homes References: [etsy](http://www.etsy.com/profile.php?user_id=6330132) [Teeny critters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miniverse-make-it-mini-spaces) can find magical homes of their own at The Secret Nest. These [handmade sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fibredog) are a wonderland of felt and feather villages for the very small. To give you an idea of their scale, the bases measure approximately 8" in diameter. I particularly like the enchanting underwater seascape of bubble high-rises, coral tube homes and low-rise urchin residences. The artist is from Victoria, B.C. and her one-of-a-kind work is available at her [Etsy](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arcade-clock) shop. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.3/10 - Popularity: 30% | Activity: 2% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Miniature Villages:** Opportunity for creating unique and personalized miniature village designs. - **Handmade Sculptures:** Potential to disrupt the traditional sculpture market through handmade and customizable creations. - **Felt and Feather Art:** Innovative use of materials in art that could inspire new artistic techniques and mediums. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art and Crafts:** Artists and crafters can explore new possibilities and techniques with miniature village designs. - **Home Decor:** Opportunity for unique and whimsical home decor items that cater to a niche market. - **Gifts and Souvenirs:** Market potential for personalized and intricate miniature sculptures as unique gifts and souvenirs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Felt-Made Novelty Shops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bourdon-street-chippy.md) - [Love-Inspired Miniature Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/love-in-a-bottle.md) - [Rentable Miniature Modern Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-nest-1.md) - [Nature-Surrounded Miniature Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-mini.md) - [Floating Duck Shelters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nesting-plan-vi-call-duck.md) - [Ethereal Feminine Tiny Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/botanical-hut-tiny-house.md) - [Whimsical Storage Baskets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-mushroom-woven-basket.md) - [Sustainable Off-Grid Remote Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/daria-sheina.md) - [Greenery-Surrounding Lush Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nest-house-1.md)
