# Artistic Alien Compassion Sympathetic Other-Worldly Creatures by Russian Artist Dmitry Maximov By Elsa Blaine | Published 2009-02-24 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tiny-alien-visitors-russian-artist-dmitry-maximo References: [baekdal](http://www.baekdal.com/Design/Art/little-aliens/) & [tebe-interesno.livejournal](http://tebe-interesno.livejournal.com/) These tiny, lonely aliens depicted by Russian artist Dmitry Maximov bring out the sympathetic romanticist in me. The poor little guys in these [illustrations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sen-donnan) are in dire need of an earthly friend. Aliens: alone in a tub with a guitar, roaming the woods, abandoned in a public transit station, left close to drowning in the rain swept streets, trapped beneath a train track and even being harassed by [giant urban pigeons](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1). My heart goes out to them all. Maximov’s creative world of [little aliens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solobo-emotion-friends) compels me to wish these little guys peace, and hope they visit a friendly part of the planet when they do call upon us. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.2/10 - Popularity: 53% | Activity: 4% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Lonely Alien Art:** The trend of depicting sympathetic, lonely aliens in art presents opportunities for artists to explore themes of isolation and connection. - **Romantic Alien Imagery:** The trend of using alien imagery to evoke a sense of romanticism and empathy offers opportunities for designers and marketers to create emotional connections with consumers. - **Exploring Alien Empathy:** The trend of exploring empathy and compassion through the lens of alien characters opens up opportunities for writers and filmmakers to tell unique and thought-provoking stories. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art and Design:** The art and design industry can leverage the trend of lonely alien art to create captivating and emotionally resonant works that appeal to a wide audience. - **Marketing and Advertising:** The marketing and advertising industry can adopt the romantic alien imagery trend to create compelling campaigns that evoke strong emotions and connect with consumers on a deeper level. - **Entertainment and Media:** The entertainment and media industry can embrace the trend of exploring alien empathy to develop innovative stories, movies, and TV shows that challenge traditional narratives and captivate audiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Anamorphic Fuzzy Glowing Vessels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alien-vases.md) - [AI-Generated Retrofuturistic Objects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retrofuturistic-objects.md) - [Striking Urban Wildlife Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clare-allin.md) - [AI-Generated Poetic Photo Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emilio-alarcn.md) - [AI-Generated Real-World Transformations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-generated-world.md) - [Surreal Love-Themed Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joakim-ojanen.md) - [Creature-Like Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-pink-robots-won.md) - [Creature-Inspired Home Good Lines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/charles-jeffreys-loverboy.md) - [Otherwordly Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/william-monk.md)
