Each [light fixture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nova-pendant-light) looks like the fruition of an [exploding rocket](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-lighting-designs). But instead of vanishing into thin air, it remains suspended indefinitely to the pleasure of those around it. Tina by Arturo Alvarez has recently been installed at the chapel of the Hostal dos Reis Católicos in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. Although undeniably contemporary, the [pop-up lighting installation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shapes-of-light) complements its medieval surroundings beautifully. According to the designer, it "symbolizes the happiness after finishing the Way of St. James." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.8/10 - Popularity: 54% | Activity: 51% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Firework-inspired Lighting:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop lighting fixtures that mimic the vibrant colors and movement of fireworks, creating a dynamic and visually captivating experience. - **Contemporary Lighting Installations:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Combine modern design with traditional spaces, like chapels or historical sites, to create striking lighting installations that enhance the aesthetic appeal and create unique experiences. - **Symbolic Design Elements:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate symbolic elements into lighting designs to evoke emotions and tell stories, such as representing the completion of significant journeys or milestones. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Lighting Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Push the boundaries of lighting design by incorporating innovative materials, technologies, and aesthetics to create captivating and immersive experiences. - **Hospitality:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Transform the ambiance of hotels, restaurants, and other hospitality venues by integrating unique lighting installations that enhance the overall guest experience and evoke specific emotions. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Collaborate with lighting designers to create customized lighting fixtures that serve as focal points and statement pieces in interior design projects, adding a touch of drama and personality to spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ethereal Oil Lamp Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-realm-of-light.md) - [Chic Saucer-Shaped Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-in-tight-light-fixture.md) - [Glassmaking Tubular Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flare-light.md) - [Suspended Lighting Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/suspended-lighting-installation.md) - [Delicate Illusory Ceiling Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aria-light.md) - [Evening Sky-Inspired Lighting Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/evening-sky.md) - [Dynamic Artful Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ghost-chandelier.md) - [Otherworldly Lighting Fixture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/otherworldly-lighting-fixture.md) - [Volcanic-Themed Light Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stone-archive.md)
