# Super Bright Benches London's Timothy Schreiber Brings the Rainbow to Your Living Room By Jessica Marcel | Published 2010-01-31 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/timothy-schreiber References: [designspotter](http://www.designspotter.com/profile/Timothy-Schreiber,-Sean-Hanna.html) & [timothy-schreiber](http://www.timothy-schreiber.com/main.html) London-based designer Timothy Schreiber sure loves color; just look at his S-08 Bench, which is only comprised of a few shades of the rainbow. The bench is comprised of several smaller pieces, each having only one color. The owner can choose how many pieces to have, and which colors, making this rainbow bench rather customizable. Timothy Schreiber's designs are minimalistic and often monochromatic, which makes the S-08 Bench all the more exciting. **Implications** - Timothy Schreiber has certainly come up with a great design concept -- both from a functional and aesthetic perspective --- for pretty much any home. These bold colors would perk up any room and make all your guests envious. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.5/10 - Popularity: 8% | Activity: 29% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Customizable Furniture:** With Timothy Schreiber's S-08 Bench as an example, there is a trend towards customizable furniture that allows customers to choose colors, sizes, and shape. - **Minimalist Color Pop:** As more modern and minimalistic designs emerge, incorporating bold and bright colors in furniture, such as Schreiber's S-08 Bench, continues to be a popular trend. - **Sustainable and Environmentally Conscious Design:** As more consumers become eco-conscious, environmentally-friendly furniture designs like Timothy Schreiber's S-08 Bench, which is made with recyclable materials, are becoming more popular. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture:** The furniture industry can innovate in both design and sustainability, by developing customizable, colorful, and eco-friendly products that meet the changing needs of consumers. - **Interior Design:** As color becomes more popular in furniture design, interior designers can recognize and capitalize on the trend to create modern and eye-catching spaces for their clients. - **Sustainable Manufacturing:** In response to the growing demand for eco-friendly and recyclable furniture, manufacturers can innovate by adopting more sustainable practices, using new materials, and reusing existing resources. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Contemporary Upcycled Bright Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/remix-maison-1.md) - [Pop Art-Inspired Bright Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/henri-judin.md) - [Chic Recycled Aluminum Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bello-bench.md) - [Upcycled Teak Minimal Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/parallel.md) - [Sleek Public Seating Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leftover-bench.md) - [Curvaceous Sculptural Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/strate-bench.md) - [Paper Cord-Wrapped Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-bench.md) - [Elegantly Airy Outdoor Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arch-bench.md) - [Recycled Resin Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-cresta.md)
