# Time Slice Photography Dan Marker-Moore Captures the Passing of Time Through Collages By Meghan Young | Published 2014-10-07 | Fashion Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/time-slice-photography References: [fubiz.net](http://www.fubiz.net/en/2014/10/05/timelapse-photography-by-dan-marker-moore/) & [danorst.tumblr](http://danorst.tumblr.com/) The Time Slice photography series is a striking visual representation of the [passing of time](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folded-time). Using a [time lapse technique](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/time-awareness) more often associated with the video format, the series juxtaposes each frame with the next in order to create a collage showing the progress from one part of the day to another. Shot by Dan Marker-Moore, the Time Slice photography series focuses mainly on landscape images. Whether captured at night or during the day, it is amazing to see time pass in such a surreal way. What is even more impressive is the fact that the images might be static, but there is a sense of progression that resonates throughout. He masterfully layers the different images together. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.6/10 - Popularity: 68% | Activity: 62% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Fashion](https://www.trendhunter.com/fashion) > [Photography](https://www.trendhunter.com/stylephotography) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Time-lapse Photography:** Opportunity to develop innovative time-lapse techniques and equipment for capturing the passing of time. - **Visual Storytelling:** Chance to explore new ways of using collages and juxtaposition in photography to tell compelling stories. - **Surreal Landscapes:** Opportunity to create otherworldly landscapes through the imaginative use of time slice photography. ### Where This Applies - **Photography:** Potential for photographers to adopt time-lapse and collage techniques to enhance their visual storytelling. - **Art and Design:** Capacity for artists and designers to incorporate time slice photography in their work to create unique and captivating pieces. - **Advertising and Marketing:** Potential for advertisers and marketers to leverage time slice photography to create visually striking campaigns that capture attention. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Time-Lapse Content Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/timelapse-content.md) - [Rapid Photo Visualizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/life-minute-photos.md) - [Time-Lapse Creation Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/photojourney.md) - [Blurry Abstract Photography Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/optical-allusion.md) - [Process Visualization Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/velocity-lapse.md) - [Visual Timelapse Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/selfiestory.md) - [Immersive Light Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spencer-finch.md) - [Multi-Lens Capture Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moon-walker-multi-cam.md) - [Kumiko Craft Structures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/timevase.md)
