He spent the last twenty years as a highly successful advertising photographer and is now gaining acclaim for his highly stylized animal portraits. The horse images featured here form part of his 'Equus Series' commissioned by PQ Publishing. **Implications** - Each of the photos displays animals in a natural state without a forced pose. Flach plays with his subjects by focusing on one specific aspect of their body and by doing quirky and simple things, such as filming bats right-side up when they're really hanging upside down. The pictures are well-executed and truly portray these wonderful creatures in an honest way that Photoshop can never achieve. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.6/10 - Popularity: 66% | Activity: 93% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Stylized Animal Portraits:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore new techniques and styles in animal portrait photography to captivate viewers and stand out in a saturated market. - **Natural State Photography:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Emphasize capturing animals in their natural state, avoiding forced poses to create authentic and captivating images that resonate with viewers. - **Quirky Animal Filming:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Experiment with unique and unconventional approaches to animal photography, such as filming animals from unexpected angles or capturing unexpected behavior, to create visually fascinating and memorable images. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Photography:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop new techniques and approaches in photography to create captivating and unique animal portraits that differentiate from traditional styles. - **Publishing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Collaborate with photographers like Tim Flach to curate and produce visually stunning and thought-provoking animal portrait series that resonate with a wide audience. - **Advertising:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate stylized and natural animal portraits into advertising campaigns to create visually impactful and emotionally engaging content that captures viewer's attention. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Almost-Extinct Animal Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fauna-series.md) - [Striking Urban Wildlife Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clare-allin.md) - [AI Pet Portraits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drawmypet.md) - [AI-Generated Poetic Photo Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emilio-alarcn.md) - [Custom Pet Portraits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portrait-mom.md) - [Artful Bronze Horse Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/deborah-butterfield-1.md) - [Spooky Charming Pet Portraits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crown-paw.md) - [Animal-Perspective Video Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/imaging-system-1.md) - [Pet-Taken Camera Initiatives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/heartography.md)
