# Motion Sensored Headsets The Tilt Headset Eliminates Phone Problems for the Disabled By Meghan Young | Published 2009-10-05 | Unique Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tilt-headset References: [thedesignblog.org](http://www.thedesignblog.org/entry/tilt-headset-allows-hands-free-chatter-for-the-disabled/) This is for a good cause, but it’s already funny enough catching people ‘talking to themselves,’ fidgeting their heads with Ryan Parry’s Tilt Headset is just going to be downright hilarious. That aside, it’s an amazing invention. For those unable to use a phone, Parry has devised a way to bypass those tricky buttons. With the Tilt Headset, people with physical impairments will be able to scroll utilize their phone by moving their head. For instance, through a series of actions (tilting head to the right to scroll through the menu, placing head back up for selection and nodding to accept it) one can easily manage what was once an impossible activity. See how easily the Tilt Headset could cause misunderstandings? Good thing the Tilt Headset is easily recognizable! ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.1/10 - Popularity: 12% | Activity: 44% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Unique](https://www.trendhunter.com/unique) > [Inventions](https://www.trendhunter.com/inventions) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Motion-sensored Headsets for Disabilities:** Motion-sensored headsets are being developed for individuals with physical impairments, allowing them to utilize phones through head movements. - **Head-movement Technology for Accessibility:** The development of head-movement technology for phones can create accessible options for individuals with disabilities. - **Assistive Headsets for Alternative Communication Methods:** New assistive headsets are enabling alternative communication methods that allow individuals with physical impairments to bypass traditional phone buttons. ### Who This Affects Most - **Assistive Technology Industry:** The assistive technology industry can benefit from further development of head-movement technology for individuals with disabilities. - **Telecommunications Industry:** The telecommunications industry can make strides by incorporating head-movement technology into their products to create accessible options for individuals with disabilities. - **Healthcare Industry:** The healthcare industry can utilize the assistive headsets technology to make communication and accessibility easier for patients with physical impairments. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Adjustable French-Designed Headphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elemik.md) - [Strabismus-Correcting Headsets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/swp-headset.md) - [Spatial Video Communication Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wehead.md) - [Gesture-Control Earpiece Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsung-galaxy-air-concept.md) - [Motion Tracking Eye Wearables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magtrack.md) - [Hybrid Wearable Headphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neckphone-tri.md) - [Visual Impairment Support Headsets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vision-bone-conduction-headset.md) - [Assistive One-Handed Hairdryers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/concept-hairdryer.md) - [Wireless Tongue-Operated Trackpads](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wireless-tongueoperated-trackpad.md)
