# Beautiful Box-Inspired Abodes The 8 Box House by Tierra Design Highlights Structured Portions By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2013-02-22 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tierra-design References: [damnitsawesome](http://damnitsawesome.com/the-8-box-house-by-tierra-design/) & [tierradesign](http://www.tierradesign.com/) The majority of homes might be square or rectangle in shape, but the 8 Box House by Tierra Design takes that aesthetic to the next level by separating each room into it's own little box. Looking like a pile of gigantic, sharply structured boxes, the 8 Box House by Tierra Design features exactly that number of spaces and pushes towards a more open concept feel by opening several of the spaces onto the pool deck, where an oversized diamond-shaped oasis is held. It's quite interesting when homes place an emphasis on incorporating a more outward flow; by encouraging a push towards the outside, it helps to create stronger cohesion to the natural world and thus make time at home seem more like it's spent out in the natural world. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.5/10 - Popularity: 48% | Activity: 18% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Structured Modular Homes:** The trend of structured modular homes presents an opportunity for innovative designs and efficient construction methods. - **Open Concept Living:** The trend of open concept living creates opportunities for seamless indoor-outdoor integration and a more fluid spatial experience. - **Natural Integration:** The trend of natural integration in home design allows for a stronger connection to the environment and a more sustainable lifestyle. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Construction:** The home construction industry can capitalize on the trend of structured modular homes by developing new building techniques and customizable modular systems. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can leverage the trend of open concept living to create versatile and visually appealing living spaces that promote connectivity and interaction. - **Sustainable Architecture:** The sustainable architecture industry can explore the trend of natural integration to design eco-friendly homes that seamlessly blend with their surroundings. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Concrete Boxes-Overlapping Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-tsurumiku.md) - [Figure 8-Structured House](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-loop-house.md) - [Curved Stacked Wooden Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/box-set.md) - [Black-Metal Angled Holiday Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shadow-box-house.md) - [Sustainable Cubic Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/appels-architekten.md) - [Boxy Shaped Beach Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roman-izquierdo-bouldstridge.md) - [Geometric Structural Forest Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/c-house.md) - [Geometric Structural Dynamic Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pentagone-house.md) - [Blocky Courtyard Home Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-of-courtyards.md)
