# Earthy Ceramic Containers Through Landscape by Young-Mi Kim are Naturally Nostalgic By Meghan Young | Published 2013-05-31 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/through-landscape References: [trendland](http://trendland.com/ceramics-by-young-mi-kim) & [youlmoo](http://www.youlmoo.com/index.php?/portfolio/ceramic/) It is easy to understand where the name of the Through Landscape collection came from when viewing the [ceramic creations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/office-of-tangible-spaces) in a neat row. It is as though they form their own artificial landscape by way of each rise and fall of the containers. The [earthy tones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sandalwood-collection) used in the Through Landscape collection also helps to consolidate this connection. Designed by Young-Mi Kim, a ceramic and graphic designer based in Seoul, South Korea, the Through Landscape collection offers new insights into the finely crafted artform of [tea sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tea-for-two-collection). With a strong attention to form and color, Kim encourages a nostalgic response to the Through Landscape designs as though they were dug up from an archeological site. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.5/10 - Popularity: 3% | Activity: 5% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Earthy Ceramic Containers:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop eco-friendly and sustainable ceramic containers using earthy tones and natural materials. - **Nostalgic Tea Sets:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create tea sets that evoke nostalgic responses by combining traditional craftsmanship with modern designs. - **Artificial Landscapes:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design artificial landscapes using ceramic containers to create visually stunning and functional art pieces. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Ceramics:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate technology and automation in ceramics production to improve efficiency and reduce costs. - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Use ceramic containers to create unique and customizable home decor products. - **Tea and Beverage:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop innovative tea and beverage products that are specifically designed to be enjoyed with earthy ceramic containers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modern Poertic Ceramics](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/virginia-sin.md) - [Origami-Inspired Porcelain Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/saori-matsushita.md) - [Clay-Modeled Multi-Use Trays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ceramics-everday-objects.md) - [Innovative Ceramic Tableware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ceramic-tableware1.md) - [Geometric Ceramic Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/limn-collection.md) - [Experimental Pottery Vessels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gourd-project.md) - [Sculpted Rhythm Forms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-kinetic-collection.md) - [Handmade Modern Ceramics](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-gunia-project.md) - [Wabi-Sabi-Informed Green Glassware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/green-glassware.md)
