He applies his perspective to illustrations rendered through multimedia techniques. Pitilli combines hand-drawn sketches, prints and collaging with Photoshopping elements. The result is a somewhat experimental, yet intriguing. His work has been featured in a myriad of major publications, including the [New York Times](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bric-house). His most recent work pays homage to strange, but relevant characteristics of American culture. Most of the works have a heavy focus on narrative, following a romance or conveying heavy amounts of emotion. More memorable is Pitilli's depiction of Black Star featuring Talib Kweli and Yasiin Bey, the legendary hip-hop group. The artist's frequent use of sunny color palettes and strong simple lines lends the series a comic feel. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.9/10 - Popularity: 99% | Activity: 99% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Multimedia Illustrations:** Exploring the combination of different artistic techniques to create unique and engaging illustrations. - **Narrative-driven Artwork:** Creating artwork that tells a story and evokes strong emotions. - **Comics-inspired Illustrations:** Drawing inspiration from comic art to create visually striking illustrations. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Publishing:** Applying multimedia illustration techniques to enhance storytelling in books, magazines, and online publications. - **Music:** Collaborating with musicians and bands to create album covers and promotional artwork that visually represents their music. - **Art and Design:** Incorporating comics-inspired illustrations into various art and design projects, such as advertising campaigns and branding materials. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Digital City-Inspired Art Works](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grand-central-station.md) - [Public Art Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paul-anthony-smith.md) - [Illustrated Streetwear Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wasted-youth-x-tappei.md) - [Interactive Typo Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loveegolov.md) - [Surreal Love-Themed Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joakim-ojanen.md) - [Limited Humorous Art Prints](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/david-shrigley-1.md) - [Nostalgic Art-Inspired Cannabis Branding](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kristofferson-san-pablo.md) - [Graffiti-Painted Homeware Products](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amour-collection.md) - [Pop Art-Appreciating IPAs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/double-ipas.md)
