He is continuing with this series titled ‘Emergent Behavior,’ and has come out with more captivating photographs. This series is a magical combination of mostly man-made items and some nature. Jackson uses colorful objects against dark backgrounds. His newest photographs feature glow sticks, cheese balls, post-its, plates and leaves. The neon glow sticks light up a luminous sky and sea background. The cheese ball photo swarms around a tree, resembling a fungus that might be found there. His post-its photo brightens up a shadowy forest. The plate photo is very playful and child-like. Different from some of the other works is his leaves photo, where he instead uses an object found in nature against man-made, concrete buildings. On Jackson’s site he says, “By constructing the pieces from unexpected materials and placing them in environments where they to least belong, I aim to tweak the margins of our visual vocabulary, and to invite fresh interpretations of everyday things.” His works are very alluring and definitely worth checking out. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.4/10 - Popularity: 43% | Activity: 52% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Photography](https://www.trendhunter.com/photography) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Hovering Objects:** The emergence of hovering objects in artwork opens up opportunities for new forms of interactive installations and virtual reality experiences. - **Emergent Behavior:** The use of everyday objects in photography that capture emergent behavior sparks potential for innovative marketing campaigns and product design. - **Visual Vocabulary:** Exploring fresh interpretations of everyday things through unconventional materials and environments presents avenues for creative branding and advertising strategies. ### Where This Applies - **Art and Photography:** The art and photography industry can leverage the trend of hovering objects to create unique and captivating visual experiences for audiences. - **Marketing and Advertising:** The marketing and advertising industry can embrace the concept of emergent behavior in using everyday objects to convey brand messages in a creative and attention-grabbing manner. - **Product Design and Branding:** Product designers and branding professionals can explore the visual vocabulary trend to enhance the appeal and storytelling of their products, creating a strong brand identity. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Tree Branch-Formed Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/celestial-attraction.md) - [Shadow-Inspired Trays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightware-series.md) - [Illuminated Curtained Light Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/making-the-invisible-visible.md) - [Playful Sculptural Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/afterglow-1.md) - [Artful Suspended Fashion Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/invisible-figures.md) - [Dynamic Moving-Illusion Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moving-furniture.md) - [Wonderous Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/your-psychoacoustic-light-ensemble.md) - [Otherworldly Wooden Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-sculptures-1.md) - [Lightning-Inspired Artful Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bright-light-shining.md)
