Five basic lamp designs make up the collection, ranging from the 'Tall Original Lantern' to the 'Flared Lantern with Duck,' each casting its own [interesting shadow upon the ground](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lp-lamp). Due to the frame-like construction of these fixtures, they cast images of what appear to be 3D boxes, creating an [optical illusion on the floor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/maze-lamp). The ones with the [duck cutouts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fable-lantern) add an extra element of design that also interacts with its immediate surroundings. The Think Lanterns line of lamps by Think Fabricate was designed by keeping in mind the effect of light as it creates darkness. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.6/10 - Popularity: 33% | Activity: 6% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Shadow Play Lighting:** Creating lamps that play with shadows and provoke thought, offering an innovative approach to interior lighting. - **Optical Illusion Fixtures:** Designing fixtures with frame-like constructions that cast 3D box images, introducing an element of visual deception. - **Interactive Illuminators:** Developing lamps with cutouts that interact with the immediate surroundings, enhancing the overall design and functionality. ### Who This Affects Most - **Interior Lighting:** Introducing unconventional lighting designs that challenge traditional concepts and create unique visual experiences. - **Furniture and Home Decor:** Combining lighting and design to create innovative and interactive furniture pieces that elevate the aesthetics of living spaces. - **Art and Sculpture:** Merging art and functionality to create sculptural lighting fixtures that blur the boundaries between form and function. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Silk Textural Lantern Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lantern-collection.md) - [Illusory Multidimensional Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drop-light.md) - [Soft Luxe Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lantern-silk-collection.md) - [Silkworm-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/phantom-lighting.md) - [Sun-Mimicking Lanterns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nick-lantern.md) - [Simplistic Angular Desktop Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linear-table-lamp.md) - [Organically Shaped Shadow Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loops-lamp.md) - [Artistic Shadow Play Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frero-tala-asa.md) - [Traditional Tower-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-pagoda-lamp.md)
