# The World's Smallest Book 0.1 Millmeters By Trend Spotter | Published 2007-05-23 | Unique Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-worlds-smallest-book-ever References: [futurismic](http://www.futurismic.com/2007/05/worlds_smallest_book.html) & [labnews](http://www.labnews.co.uk/laboratory_article.php/1881/2/nanoscience-creates-worlds-smallest-book) For $20,000 US, you can lay claim to a limited edition of the World's Smallest Book. It measures less than 0.1 millimetres square! It was created with laser beam etchings on a silicon crystal (nanotechnology). **Implications** - This brilliant innovation was created by a group of Canadian physicists and only has 30 "pages" (which are actually slices of silicon crystal). If you have prescription glasses, I'm sorry to say that they just won't cut it for this teeny tiny book. You're going to need something a whole lot stronger in order to read the text on these pages. Perhaps you should think about investing in a microscope? ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 36% | Activity: 42% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Unique](https://www.trendhunter.com/unique) > [Bizarre](https://www.trendhunter.com/bizarre) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Nanotechnology:** Expanding the possibilities of miniaturization and precision in various industries. - **Microscopic Technology:** Advancements in microscopic technology for improved visualization and analysis. - **Miniature Collectibles:** Growing market for extremely small and intricate collectible items. ### Who This Affects Most - **Electronics:** Creating smaller and more powerful electronic devices. - **Optics:** Developing advanced optical instruments for microscopic viewing. - **Art and Design:** Exploring opportunities for creating miniature artworks and collectibles. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Microscopic Handbag Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/microscopic-handbag.md) - [Miniature Beer Bottles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/worlds-smallest-beer.md) - [Holiday-Ready Small Vinyl Records](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dtu.md) - [Miniature Wine Glasses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miniature-wine-glass.md) - [Miniature Milling Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kujietool.md) - [Compact Jelly Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jelly-star.md) - [Ultra-Compact E-Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moosshiqk.md) - [Miniature Sub Sandwiches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/worls-smallest-sub.md) - [Unique Bible Paper Products](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thin-bible-paper.md)
