The swimming hole is located dozens of feet below a hole in Mexico. The swimming hole's unique location creates for a spectacular interplay of light with the dark waters. The photos have a strangely dark look to them, in stark contrast to regular photos of water bodies. This gives the photos a beautiful, mysterious air. Further adding to the mystery is the fact that this swimming hole, now a popular swimming location, was once used to carry out human sacrifices hundreds of years ago. 'Swim: The Water in Between' is the work of New York-based photographer Francine Fleischer. The series is on display at Gallery Tanto Tempo in Kobe, Japan from May 10-June 22. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.5/10 - Popularity: 43% | Activity: 24% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Dark Aesthetic Photography:** Explore the use of dark lighting and mysterious settings in photography to create captivating visuals. - **Unconventional Water Exploration:** Discover the fascination with swimming in unconventional locations like mysterious swimming holes for a unique water experience. - **Historical Context in Art:** Find inspiration in incorporating historical elements into artistic works to create a sense of mystery and intrigue. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Photography:** Photographers can experiment with unique lighting techniques and unconventional settings to capture captivating images that stand out from the ordinary. - **Tourism and Travel:** Travel agencies and adventure companies can offer tours and experiences that explore unconventional swimming locations, attracting thrill-seeking travelers. - **Art Galleries and Exhibitions:** Art galleries and exhibition spaces can feature artwork that incorporates historical contexts and mysterious aesthetics to engage visitors and spark their curiosity. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Asymmetrical Ultra-Compact Pools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/faraway-pool.md) - [Whimsical Pool-Inspired Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/public-pool-exhibition.md) - [Painting-Immersive Photo Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-ground-exhibition.md) - [Illuminated Bright Pool Surfaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vetrite.md) - [Urban Portugal Swimming Pools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loop-pool.md) - [Fluid Basketball-Net Art Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/swimming-pools-and-bubblegum.md) - [Men's Summer Swimwear Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vilebrequin-x-joel-mesler.md) - [Underwater Pool Window Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hastingssunrise.md) - [Chalk Streams Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/british-conceptual-landscape-photographer.md)
