# Branching Structural Beams The Tote is Ethereal and Magical Elvish-like Architecture By Meghan Young | Published 2009-12-07 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-tote References: [designboom](http://www.designboom.com/weblog/cat/9/view/8391/serie-architects-chris-lee-and-kapil-gupta-the-tote-mumbai.html) & [serie](http://www.serie.co.uk/Serie) To me, The Tote evokes visions of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Elvish architecture found in the ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy. [Ethereal and magical](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cs-somme-cafe) with a strong tie to nature, The Tote in Mumbai is absolutely gorgeous. Designed by [Serie Architects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/raj-sabhagruh), The Tote is a banquet hall, restaurant and [bar](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stalk-treehugger). This structure works in perfect harmony with its surroundings.
