# Tectonic Contemporary Cubbies The SWOC Storage System Comprises Irregular Arranged Compartments By Amelia Roblin | Published 2014-03-14 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-swoc-storage-system References: [ettlabenn](http://www.ettlabenn.com/portfolio-item/swoc/) Level ledges are not necessary for the effective storage of your assorted possessions. The SWOC Storage System demonstrates how abstract shapes and uneven surfaces can equate to a perfectly practical unit that is also modifiable and a great deal more interesting to look at. The ett la ben design consists of [individual modules with stiff metal frames](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sfso-1) that maintain the consistent irregular forms of the open cubbies. To give the organic arrangement more softness and some much-needed friction, the bent sheets have been given fabric coverings. Black outsides and blue insides create visual intrigue on top of the complex [modular mounds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gioco) that can be built from the SWOC Storage System components. As few as two and as many as dozens can be stacked together to form [shelving and interior partitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/qurv). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.8/10 - Popularity: 82% | Activity: 25% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Abstract Storage Systems:** Exploration of unconventional shapes and uneven surfaces in storage design to create visually intriguing and practical units. - **Modular Storage Solutions:** Adoption of individual modules with metal frames that allow for customizable and flexible storage arrangements. - **Mixing Materials in Storage Design:** Incorporation of fabric coverings on bent metal sheets to add a soft and tactile element to storage units. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture:** Opportunity for furniture manufacturers to create innovative and stylish storage solutions. - **Home Organization:** Potential for home organization companies to offer unique and customizable storage options for consumers. - **Interior Design:** Space for interior designers to experiment with unconventional storage designs to enhance the aesthetics of living spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sandbox-Like Modular Storage Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-storage-cabinet1.md) - [Colorful Modular Storage Sysem](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/center-center-storage.md) - [Flexible Storage Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brickbox-modular-shelving.md) - [Modular Organized Shelving Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unit-shelving-system.md) - [Customizable Storage Furniture Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shelved-modular-furniture.md) - [Customizable Style-Conscious Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ledoux-modular-shelf-system.md) - [Modular Storage Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/original-modern-shelving.md) - [Adaptable Flat-Pack Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flat-pack-shelving.md) - [Adaptive Storage System](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tumba.md)
