The [Stone House](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-pocket-chair) marks the solo debut of Dutch Designer Stefan Scholten. The sustainability-made furniture series is part of the Masterly - The Dutch in Milano exhibition at Palazzo Turati. Scholten's design was inspired by Forte Dei Marmi, an area of Italy best known for its marble quarries. The designer was keen to explore different ways to repurpose [stone waste](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pebble-stool), a common practice in this particular industry.

The designer's project found a way to upcycle discarded stone to create [minimalist furniture pieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fels-coffee-table) through material research. The collection includes a series of dining chairs, a bench, a coffee table, and a dining table. The designer used traditional techniques such as terrazzo with a mix of bold colors and shapes to create the pieces.
