# Transparent Treetop Cubes The Steam Studio is a Bizarrely Intriguing Recycled Space By Jordan M | Published 2011-02-21 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-steam-studio References: [hellekvamme.se](http://www.hellekvamme.se/) Here at Trend Hunter, we've covered a lot of fantastic [tree houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forest-nests-treepod-project), but the Steam Studio by artist Helle Kvamme is certainly one of the more bizarrely fascinating specimens to come along by far. Made largely from [recycled materials](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/upcycled-sauna), the Steam Studio is a provocative structure that is rigged in order to occasionally fill with steam. In this way, the Steam Studio is more akin to an [artistic expression piece](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/curly-cube) than an actual structure, with the hope being that the water molecules undergoing their dramatic changes from vapor to ice will inspire those walking by to pause for a moment of thoughtful reflection. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.1/10 - Popularity: 24% | Activity: 31% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Recycled Architecture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop sustainable building materials and construction methods that maximize the use of recycled materials. - **Artistic Structures:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore the integration of artistic elements into architecture, creating visually stunning and thought-provoking structures. - **Interactive Installations:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design interactive environments that engage the senses and encourage moments of reflection and contemplation. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Construction:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop new technologies and processes that promote sustainability and the use of recycled materials in construction projects. - **Art & Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Merge the worlds of art and architecture, creating unique structures that challenge traditional notions of form and function. - **Experiential Entertainment:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create immersive installations and environments that offer visitors interactive and transformative experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Vaulted Structural Telescopic Treehouse](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artistree-home.md) - [Treehouse Writing Studios](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casetta-tessino.md) - [Artful Elevated Timber Treehouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/secret-camp.md) - [Repurposed Wooden Shoreside Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tree-house-by-the-lake.md) - [Simplistic Tranquil Garden Studios](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tuinhuis-atelier.md) - [Nature-Immersive Tranquil Resorts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/treehouse-villas.md) - [Reflection-Inducing Floating Saunas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trosten-floating-sauna.md) - [Contemporary Conservationist Treehouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sylvascope-treehouse.md) - [Slatted Steel Treehouse Surroundings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sawmill-treehouse.md)
