Its [origami-inspired technology](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gami-collection) allows it to fold into itself for flat-packed transportation. When unfolded into its full shape, the Spinel is a [minimal, elegant, and unique statement piece](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flat-light). While beautiful in its minimalist form, the product's main goal is to provide functional and ergonomic benefits. Not only is the hanging light an excellent design feature for space-saving, but it is also sustainably made with the least amount of raw material. Its dynamic wooden design is thus easily recycled at the end of its long lifespan. Guille Cameron explains it is "Our responsibility as designers. . .to produce objects that occupy the smallest possible volume."
