The SkyLight is an [attachment for your smartphone](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stage-powergrip) that allows you to mount it on top of a microscope. The SkyLight slides over a microscope's eyepiece and contains a slot for your smartphone. Once properly in place, the smartphone's camera auto-focuses and shows the slide under the microscope in crisp and clear detail. The image can be saved and sent just like a normal picture.

The SkyLight allows schools and other organizations to update their science equipment without having to spend a ton of many. Not many school districts or rural laboratories have money to spend on new microscopes, but nearly everyone owns a smartphone of some type. The SkyLight was funded through [Kickstarter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beaverlab-pro-microscope) and is currently available at a pre-order price of $60.
