# Workplace Rage Meters The RageGage Gives You an Outlet for Your Office Anger By Michael Hines | Published 2011-05-15 | Lifestyle Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-ragegage References: [technabob](http://technabob.com/blog/2011/05/12/ragegage-desktop-gadget/) & [ragegage](http://www.ragegage.com/category/29-ragegages.aspx) It probably isn't too much of a reach to say we've all had times at work where we feel like punching a coworker or two. While carrying out these acts would relieve some [much needed stress](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/destressapp) and anger, it would probably get you in trouble with the law and your boss. Fortunately, the RageGage has been created to let you act out your [violent urges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/venting-machine) without getting in trouble. The RageGage is a [squishy disk](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/speks-magnet-balls) that, when punched, emits a one-liner along with a force-rating. The RageGage can be bought with custom voices installed such as a certain recent president or an Aussie, or they can be programmed with the voice of a particularly infuriating coworker. I would go for the latter option as it would be more gratifying to an obnoxious coworker scream than a poor man's version of George Bush. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.1/10 - Popularity: 36% | Activity: 18% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Health](https://www.trendhunter.com/health) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Workplace Anger Management:** The RageGage offers a unique outlet for office anger, highlighting the trend of finding innovative solutions to manage workplace frustrations. - **Customized Stress-relief Products:** The ability to program the RageGage with specific voices reflects the trend of personalized stress-relief products that cater to individual needs. - **Emotional Well-being in the Workplace:** The creation of the RageGage underscores the growing trend of addressing and improving emotional well-being in professional environments. ### Where This Applies - **Office Supplies:** The RageGage introduces a disruptive innovation opportunity within the office supplies industry, enticing customers with unique stress-relief products. - **Wellness and Mental Health:** The trend of prioritizing mental health in the workplace opens up disruptive innovation opportunities for the wellness industry, such as the development of tools like the RageGage. - **Gifts and Novelty Items:** The customization aspect of the RageGage taps into the trend of personalized gifts and novelty items, presenting an opportunity for the gifts industry to offer unique stress-relief options. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Creative Frustration Outlets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/punch-your-client.md) - [Malleable Stress Relief Mouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vent-wireless-mouse.md) - [Retail Rage Rooms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miista.md) - [Slacking Support Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/office-slacker.md) - [Gamified Office Worker Exercises](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crouch-beat.md) - [Memory Gel Stress Balls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gel-stress-ball.md) - [Desktop Mood Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clover-emotion-tracker.md) - [Desktop Miniature Sports Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/desk-beach-volleyball.md) - [Anger-Soothing Soaks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rage-squashing.md)
