# Intersecting Modern Furniture The Phillips Table by Curtis Popp is Subtle and Elegant By Andrew Robertson | Published 2012-04-05 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-phillips-table References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/phillips-table-by-curtis-popp/) & [cpoppworkshop](http://www.cpoppworkshop.com/index.cfm/products/phillips-table/) Curtis Popp has a knack for creating lively pieces of elegant furniture. His latest design for the [Phillips](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fixman) Table is composed of a simple white round counter on top of a [vibrant yellow pedestal](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yonder-collection). While the color coordination is charming in its complementary straightforwardness, this design would lend itself well to an assortment of color pairings. The Phillips Table gets it name from the [cross-like design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/collection-co) marking the interconnection between table and stand. The intricate outline of the base makes for an interesting juxtaposition between geometrically pure and avant-garde attraction. Perfect for supporting a tray of lemonade and sandwiches, the Phillips Table would make for an ideal outdoor summer table on those warm sunny days. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.0/10 - Popularity: 35% | Activity: 18% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Elegant Furniture Design:** An emerging trend in the furniture industry that focuses on creating lively and elegant pieces of furniture. - **Color Coordination:** A growing trend in furniture design that emphasizes the use of complementary color pairings to create visually appealing pieces. - **Geometrically Pure Designs:** A trend in furniture design that explores the use of geometric shapes and patterns to create visually striking and avant-garde furniture pieces. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Design:** The furniture industry can leverage the trend of elegant furniture design to create unique and visually appealing pieces that cater to modern consumers. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate the trend of color coordination to enhance the visual appeal of spaces, creating harmonious and aesthetically pleasing environments. - **Outdoor Furniture:** The outdoor furniture industry can capitalize on the trend of geometrically pure designs to create standout pieces that add a touch of avant-garde style to outdoor spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Elegant Table Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tangent-table.md) - [Juxtaposing Material Dining Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/compression-dining-table.md) - [Colorful Contemporary Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/runda-tables.md) - [Intersecting Two-Part Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shaolin-side-table.md) - [Interlocking Puzzle-Like Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/connect-table.md) - [Impactful Industrial Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/to-steel-side-table.md) - [Sustainable Colorful Multifunctional Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/superpop.md) - [Contemporary Elegant Table Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-table-designs.md) - [Acrylic Multicolor Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lucid-side-tables.md)
