# Subtle Candid Cameras The Peepster Captures Those Natural, Unforgettable Moments By Meghan Young | Published 2011-05-20 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-peepster References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2011/05/18/gadgets-for-the-peeper/) & [simpleartifact](http://www.simpleartifact.com/) Aside from the fact that The Peepster would be an incredibly great camera to have on hand, I can't help but also love it because it is just so darn cute. The way it is being so sweetly stealth in the pictures featured makes me feel as though The Peepster came out of a [Pixar](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/google-9) film or even an [IKEA](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ikea-rdstrfse) commercial. Designed by Alex Bogusky, Michael Kritzer, Neil Riddell & Veronica Padilla of [Simple Architect](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/simple-life) for VW, Duh Technologies, The Peepster is a slim, subtle device that can be rested behind objects on its tripod legs or hung in other unobtrusive positions to record moments that would otherwise look posed. The Peepster is a 3-megapixel camera with a 4GB Flash Hard Drive that can connect directly to your computer via USB. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.6/10 - Popularity: 84% | Activity: 77% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Photography](https://www.trendhunter.com/photography) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Stealth Cameras:** A trend of small, inconspicuous cameras that capture natural and unposed moments. - **Designs with Personality:** A trend of designing products with adorable and cute aesthetics, reminiscent of a Pixar film or commercial. - **Connected Cameras:** A trend of cameras with built-in connectivity to easily transfer and access photos on a computer or other devices. ### Where This Applies - **Photography Equipment:** The photography equipment industry can take advantage of the trend of stealth cameras to develop more compact and inconspicuous camera models. - **Consumer Electronics:** The consumer electronics industry can tap into the trend of designs with personality to create products that are visually appealing and evoke an emotional connection with consumers. - **Data Storage and Transfer:** The data storage and transfer industry can integrate the trend of connected cameras to offer seamless and convenient ways to transfer and access photos from cameras to computers or other devices. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Pebble-Shaped Vlogging Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kyu-camera.md) - [Adorable Mini Instant Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retro-digital-toy-camera.md) - [Sculptural Pebble-Shaped Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ditto-camera-concept.md) - [Translucent Pocket Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clearcam.md) - [Tiny Colorful Camera Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chamera.md) - [Decor-Inspired Security Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-home-camera.md) - [Dedicated Content Creator Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/instapocket.md) - [Pebble-Shaped Effortless Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kyu.md) - [Imperfect Photography Celebrations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nonnas-cam.md)
