# Rusty Iron Furniture The Network Collection by STUDIO9 is Rustic and Industrial By Meghan Young | Published 2012-09-26 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-network-collection References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/rusty-iron-furniture-the-network-collection-by-studio9/) & [9design.co.il](http://9design.co.il/) The Network Collection may be comprised of rusty iron furniture, but that doesn't mean the pieces are by any means old and outdated. Although they hold onto a vintage appeal, they are quite contemporary, in a charming sort of way. Named after the mess of [interconnecting metal webs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/barred-collection) used as the surface for [tables, benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pul-collection) and more, The Network Collection is quite intriguing. Created by Israeli designer Yifat Levin of Studio9, The Network Collection has a rawness that will draw those who like all things industrial, a retro element that will attract antiquers and a subtle refined quality that will appeal to everyone else. As [rustic as it appears](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/earth-to-people-furniture-collection), the pieces in The Network Collection are coated with clear lacquer to ensure that it doesn't get dirty. The plaint splatter drawers add a nice touch. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 78% | Activity: 31% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Rusty Iron Furniture:** Opportunity for designers to create contemporary furniture with a vintage and industrial appeal using rusty iron. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Design:** A chance for furniture designers to explore the use of rusty iron materials in their creations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Vibrant Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vibrant-furniture-collection.md) - [Metal-Centric Playful Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sight-unseen-1.md) - [Unconventional Outdoor Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-joy-furniture.md) - [Steel Hybrid Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bloc-studios.md) - [NYC-Inspired Steel Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/city-block.md) - [Minimalist Upcycled Aluminum Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/truss-furniture.md) - [Textured Modern Furniture Lines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/touch-collections.md) - [Durable Designer Furniture Pieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/r24-collection.md) - [Ancient Practice-Inspired Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bidri-furniture.md)
