The home is made in a simple gabled form, pulling inspiration from classic New England beach houses that line the US Atlantic coastline. The large interior features a simple staircase that divides the living space in half, creating a space that is open, yet dedicated to different purposes. By designing a pitch in the roof, the home has a spacious double-height room on the second storey, with a minimalist and clean white color scheme. Large glass panels fill each room with natural lighting and views of the surrounding landscape. By mixing luxurious design with [classic architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-of-wood-shingle), the Mortehoe House is a one-of-a-kind beach house. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.9/10 - Popularity: 16% | Activity: 2% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Luxurious Design:** The trend of combining luxury with design in residential architecture can create unique and desirable properties. - **Classic Architecture:** The trend of incorporating classic architectural elements in modern homes can create a nostalgic and timeless appeal. - **Natural Lighting:** The trend of maximizing natural lighting through the use of large windows and glass panels can create bright and inviting living spaces. ### Where This Applies - **Residential Architecture:** The residential architecture industry can capitalize on the trend of combining luxurious design with classic elements to create high-end and unique properties. - **Interior Design:** The interior design industry can leverage the trend of mixing luxury with classic architecture to create stylish and appealing living spaces. - **Glass Manufacturing:** The glass manufacturing industry can benefit from the trend of maximizing natural lighting by producing high-quality glass panels for residential and commercial buildings. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modern Interpreted English Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eight-gables.md) - [Coastal Timber Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cornwall-retreat.md) - [Meadow-Overlooking Sleek Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/studioac-1.md) - [Cedar-Clad L-Shaped Beach Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ospreys-landing.md) - [Elegant Gabled Coastal Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hale-kiawe.md) - [Relaxing Wooden Holiday Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/heatherhill-beach-house.md) - [Boxy Shaped Beach Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roman-izquierdo-bouldstridge.md) - [Sustainable Country Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/three-oaks-farm.md) - [Elevated Timber-Clad Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/victory-bay-house.md)
