In places where sunlight is more dominant than others, such as in the Mission District located in Twin Peaks, San Francisco, solar rays are the ultimate power source, hence the Mission: House. In a location with an abundance of sunlight, Interstice Architects took it upon themselves to utilize this energy and construct a high-tech home that can recycle natural resources.

Originally designed as a test lab for building strategies, the Mission: House is encased in a [solar multi-faceted "greenskin" shell](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/copper-bottom) made of [recycled windows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shor-house) and ultimately uses [smart passive solar strategies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/acute-house) that synthesizes solar energy. However, not only does the house have an exposed open-air bathroom, the house does not provide much insulation from the cold.
