# Living Robot Photography 'The Man Machine' Depicts the Rise of the Robot By Meghan Young | Published 2010-09-11 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-man-machine References: [fubiz.net](http://www.fubiz.net/2010/09/10/rise-of-the-robots/) & [vincentfournier](http://www.vincentfournier.co.uk/) Brussel, Belgium-based Photographer Vincent Fournier seems captivated by the oddball side of life, as seen in his latest photo series entitled 'The Man Machine.' Although not outright quirky, there is an element of strangeness that makes his work endearingly wonderful and unexpected. 'The Man Machine' in particular, depicts the [rise of the robot](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/figure-03) in a [cute and clumsy way](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/butter-bot). While many people see this rise as a cause for fear and retaliation, Fournier seems to see them more as newborns trying to find their footing in a brave new world. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.0/10 - Popularity: 52% | Activity: 30% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [AI](https://www.trendhunter.com/ai) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Rise of Robots:** The rise of robots presents disruptive innovation opportunities in industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, and customer service. - **Human-robot Interaction:** The exploration of human-robot interaction opens up disruptive innovation opportunities in education, entertainment, and social services. - **Robotics in Art:** The integration of robotics in art provides disruptive innovation opportunities in the arts and cultural industries, creating new forms of expression and experiences. ### Who This Affects Most - **Manufacturing:** The manufacturing industry can embrace disruptive innovation by incorporating robots to enhance efficiency, productivity, and safety. - **Healthcare:** Robots can revolutionize the healthcare industry by enabling precise surgeries, delivering medication, and assisting in patient care, leading to disruptive innovation in healthcare services. - **Customer Service:** Disruptive innovation in customer service can occur through the use of robots to provide personalized and efficient assistance, improving customer experiences and reducing costs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Robotic Portrait Sketches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pankraz-piktograph.md) - [Human-Made Lamp Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/i-am-not-a-robot-lamp-collection.md) - [Kinetic Art Objects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-machine.md) - [AI-Generated Retrofuturistic Objects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retrofuturistic-objects.md) - [AI Photography Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gency-pb.md) - [Robotic Digital Surveillance Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/accept-all.md) - [Creature-Like Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-pink-robots-won.md) - [Futuristic Robotic Wearables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ikeuchi-hiroto.md) - [Futuristic Museum Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unnatural-history-museum-of-singapore.md)
