# Nose-Blowing Nightlights The LighTissue Makes it Safer to Sneeze in the Dark By Michael Hines | Published 2011-10-31 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-lightissue References: [technabob](http://technabob.com/blog/2011/10/28/lightissue-illuminated-tissue/) & [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2011/10/27/the-tissue-issue/) Blowing your nose in the dark wouldn't be such a risky task if everyone had the LighTissue. The LighTissue is an interesting concept from Oh-Se Won that lets you both [blow your nose](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nasal-care-products) and light your way through darkness. How the LighTissue works is still a mystery, as its designer has not come out and given any technical specifics. With technology the way it is today, I wouldn't be surprised if there were a dozen ways to light up a piece of tissue paper. Despite the lack of solid details, the LighTissue is still an awesome concept. While most homes could make use of a nightlight, not many have them. The LighTissue could very well be that nightlight, especially for those evenings when a cold has got the best of you. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.1/10 - Popularity: 17% | Activity: 9% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Smart Nightlights:** The LighTissue highlights the potential for smart nightlights that serve multiple functions. - **Dual-purpose Products:** The LighTissue showcases the demand for products that can perform multiple tasks. - **Intuitive Illumination:** The LighTissue demonstrates the need for innovative lighting solutions that adapt to specific situations. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Decor:** The LighTissue presents an opportunity for home decor companies to create unique and functional lighting options. - **Personal Care:** The LighTissue opens up possibilities for personal care companies to develop multi-functional products that improve convenience. - **Lighting Technology:** The LighTissue indicates a potential market for lighting technology companies to create innovative and customizable lighting solutions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Soothing Speaker-Equipped Night Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lullaby-talk.md) - [Chic Magnetic Tissue Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tent-acme.md) - [Inflatable Mood Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blow-lamp.md) - [Astronaut Night Light Projectors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/night-light-projectors.md) - [Rice Straw Tissue Packaging](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/third-size-tissue-box.md) - [Sleep Support Nose Strips](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knocked-nose-strips.md) - [Intelligent Accessible Light Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lamptok-light.md) - [Pop-Up Reading Light Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/personal-task-lamp.md) - [Whimsical Item-Holding Lanterns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightray.md)
