# Space-Saving Floating Escritoires The Ledge by Urbancase Features No Legs and an Organized Design By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2013-06-07 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-ledge-by-urbancase References: [thefancy](http://www.thefancy.com/things/230201129/The-Ledge-by-Urbancase) & [urbancase](http://www.urbancase.com) Keeping things neat around the home office is effortless with The Ledge by Urbancase desk, which removes the standard legs of a traditional workspace to effortlessly free up space. The Ledge by Urbancase features a floating design aesthetic that's complemented by the rich, solid walnut material from which it's crafted. Although lifted off the ground and affixed to the wall, The Ledge by Urbancase features a drawer and sliding surface for a laptop or paperwork. A built-in cord management system ensures that the strikingly minimal design isn't put off by unsightly cords. By removing the legs and focusing on making use of a previously unused portion of the space, The Ledge by Urbancase switches up preconceived notions regarding what can and can't be done to make the most of small spaces. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.0/10 - Popularity: 82% | Activity: 59% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Space-saving Furniture:** Creating furniture that maximizes space by eliminating traditional leg structures. - **Floating Design Aesthetic:** Designing products that appear to float, giving a sense of weightlessness and spaciousness. - **Minimalist Cord Management:** Developing innovative cord management solutions that maintain a minimalist design aesthetic. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Incorporating floating design principles into the creation of space-saving desks, tables, and other furniture pieces. - **Interior Design:** Utilizing space-saving and floating design concepts to maximize the functionality and aesthetics of small living or office spaces. - **Home Office Solutions:** Providing innovative furniture and workspace solutions for individuals working in limited or small spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Leaning Portable Workstation Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leandesk.md) - [Ultra-Chic Wall Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wall-desks.md) - [Sleek Minimal Wall Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ab019-wall-desk.md) - [Minimalist Storage-Paired Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diag-desk.md) - [Minimalist Modular Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/console-desk.md) - [Minimally Refined Wall Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wall-desk-1.md) - [Space-Saving Foldable Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foldable-desk1.md) - [Wood Desk Shelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/desk-shelf-pro.md) - [Elegant Working Desk Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mindset-builtin-computer-desk.md)
