The Kata lounge chair is designed by the Barcelona-based studio dubbed [Altherr Désile Park](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/altherr-dsile-park). The chair's design takes inspiration from [traditional woven straw chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woven-chair-designs) to draw an intersection between modernity and history. Sleek and simplistic in form and shape, the Kata lounge chair is made from solid wood, unlike its straw predecessors.

Designed as a modern armchair, Kata is made from a combination of oak and black locust wood. Moreover, it features an upholstered back and a plush upholstered seat. These elements are stitched together to form a single unit to fit into the chair's structure easily. Available in various colors and striped 3D knitted finishes, the cushion's fabric is made from post-consumer plastic waste that is then recycled and woven into yarn.
