The Hub is a round aluminum container for cords that has a clever mechanism allowing it to [retract on its own](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flexline-67w), almost like a measuring tape. A design project by Chadwick Parker and Joe Huang from Beijing, China, The Hub is a simple solution to a prevalent problem. With a push of a button, The Hub ensures that there is "no more mess, tangled wires, or hand-winding," according to the designers. Suitable for phone cables and laptop cords, The Hub comes in a mini version for headphones as well. It also has a detachable clip so people can secure it to their clothing. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.4/10 - Popularity: 19% | Activity: 75% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Retractable Cord Containers:** The trend of retractable cord containers offers a convenient solution for managing cord mess and tangles. - **Wireless Technology Integration:** The trend of integrating wireless technology with cord management products creates opportunities for seamless tech accessories. - **Convenience and Portability:** The trend towards compact, portable cord management solutions provides a hassle-free experience for users on the go. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Electronics and Gadgets:** The electronics and gadgets industry can explore the opportunity to enhance their product offerings with innovative cord management solutions. - **Tech Accessories:** The tech accessories industry can tap into the demand for sleek and functional cord management gadgets. - **Home Organization:** The home organization industry can expand its product range by incorporating retractable cord containers to streamline cord management. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Minimalist Tech-Friendly Valet Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/holme-hadfield-the-hub.md) - [All-in-One Desk Organizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cord-1.md) - [Compact Desktop Organized Dongles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hubkey.md) - [Wire-Eliminating Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mouse-bungee.md) - [Flexible Connectivity Workstation Hubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/desk-hub.md) - [Unified Smart Home Hubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cisco-home-hub.md) - [USB Hub-Equipped Mouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/protoarc-modular-hubmouse.md) - [Retractable Port Hub Laptops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/laptop-design-concept.md) - [Sleek Charging Cable Wraps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/taim.md)
