The home is, as its name suggests, achieved with these sustainable materials including wood where required along with [cork cladding](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/atelier-local-house) for stylish cladding and [straw for further insulation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-la-escocesa). The home is paired with recycled material for insulation along with [solar panels on the roof](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/florian-busch-architects) to make it a self-powered structure that further enhances its ability to not impact the environment or the surrounding landscape. 'The House of Wood, Straw, and Cork' is eco-friendly and modern, but highlights a decidedly homey interior space that is warm and inviting to make it well-suited to the needs of the inhabitants. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.6/10 - Popularity: 98% | Activity: 91% | Freshness: 10% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) > [Eco Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/ecoarchitecture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Eco-friendly Home Design:** Opportunities abound for companies producing eco-friendly construction materials and designers who specialize in green homes. - **Off-the-grid Living:** There is a market for companies offering innovative energy solutions for off-the-grid living and sustainable self-powered homes. - **Sustainable Insulation:** Businesses specializing in sustainable insulation materials and installation techniques align with the trend toward eco-friendly homes and buildings. ### Who This Affects Most - **Construction Materials:** Companies in the construction materials industry can seize the opportunity to develop and market eco-friendly building materials such as cork and straw. - **Renewable Energy:** The renewable energy industry can capitalize on the trend toward sustainable self-powered homes by offering innovative energy solutions for off-the-grid living and homes with solar-powered or wind-powered systems. - **Sustainable Home Designers:** There is a growing need for professional home designers that specialize in sustainable and eco-friendly construction, using environmentally conscious materials, and taking the surrounding environment's impact into account. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Rural Cork Block Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cork-and-wood-house.md) - [Sustainable Country Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/three-oaks-farm.md) - [Sustainable Floating Cork Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-float-1.md) - [Cork Cladding London Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ninas-house.md) - [Sustainable Cubic Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/appels-architekten.md) - [Nature-Rooted Family Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/haus-am-lagnesberg.md) - [Locally Sourced Angular Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/straw-flea-house.md) - [Barn-Inspired Timber Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-w-1.md) - [Minimal Cork Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/atelier-local-house.md)
