All of Jantzen's house sculptures are monochromatic and are made using a single material to build the house and the added on shapes. His houses have been transformed to range from a house on stilts, to a house on wheels, to a [house on a rocker](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-week-at-the-knees) and a house with an orbiting door. Jantzen aims to explore the house symbol by adding simple interventions that completely change the interpretation altogether. These ten sculptures are intended to be [large public art installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1) in the future. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.7/10 - Popularity: 93% | Activity: 70% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Metaphoric Public Art:** Using everyday objects as inspiration for large scale art installations. - **Minimalist Architecture:** Using a single material to build structures and incorporating simple interventions to transform their meaning. - **Interactive Landscape Design:** Designing outdoor spaces that incorporate elements of surprise and exploration. ### Where This Applies - **Public Art:** Opportunities to bring unique and thought-provoking installations to outdoor spaces, from parks to city streets. - **Architecture and Design:** Exploring new ways of designing and constructing buildings that are functional and visually interesting. - **Tourism and Leisure:** Creating unique attractions that draw visitors and provide immersive experiences beyond traditional museums and galleries. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Abstract Fantasy Home Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/abstract-fantasy-home.md) - [Whimsical Sculptural Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/city-block-series.md) - [Solar Energy Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/michael-jantzen-2.md) - [Interactive Architectural Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folding-landscape.md) - [Moon-Bound Architectural Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moonhouse-project.md) - [Martian-Informed Inflatable Buildings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/martian-house.md) - [Street Art-Inspired Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/met-rooftop.md) - [Dynamic Sculptural Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-transformation-table.md) - [Curved Translucent Experimental Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptors-apartment.md)
