# Comfort-Focused Luxury Hotels The Hotel Hygge Was Designed with Comfort and Relaxation in Mind By Madison Mackay | Published 2018-03-21 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-hotel-hygge References: [wallpaper](https://www.wallpaper.com/travel/belgium/brussels/hotels/hotel-hygge) & [hyggehotel.be](http://www.hyggehotel.be/) Architect Michel Penneman created the Hotel Hygge, a modern and luxurious escape from bustling Brussles. The hotel has a subtle touch compared to the architect's previous designs, putting fashionable interior design and luxurious comfort first. By electing to sacrifice the number of guest suites and making space for sizeable communal spaces, the hotel features a new concept for travelers to have a luxurious stay. With custom-made furniture, the entire hotel has a Scandinavian aesthetic, keeping each space well-equipped. The walk-in showers have blue-and-white tiling, carrying the same inspiration from the rest of the hotel into even the smallest spaces. Classical high ceilings, original fireplaces and traditional wooden flooring give the Hotel Hygee a classic yet modern look that is fashionable and serene. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 57% | Activity: 21% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Refreshed Retreat Interior Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brecon.md) - [Mountainside-Inspired Bespoke Hotels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bouchardon-hotel.md) - [Bold Urban Hotels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hotel-hans.md) - [Anti-Luxury Hotel Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chopard-1.md) - [Elegant Interior Hotel Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tonen.md) - [Natural Comfort Chalets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chalet-cocagne.md) - [Cozy Contemporary Hotel Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woodlark-hotel.md) - [Brutalist Artful Hotel Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hoxton-charlottenburg.md) - [Tranquil Contemporary Cabin Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hyatta.md)
