This contemporary example makes some sense when it's left bare, but what happens when one drapes a blanket over the back? Roberto Paoli designed the bucket seat of the furnishing to be made from polycarbonate material. It's through this long opening that the user can feed sweaters and throws. If the fabric is long enough, it can conceal the [steel wireframe structure](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wire-chair-concept) of the Hanging Chair to produce an eye-catching [illusion of a floating seat](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/siembra-capsule). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.1/10 - Popularity: 49% | Activity: 35% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Polycarbonate Material:** Opportunity to innovate in creating more durable and versatile furniture using polycarbonate material. - **Customizable Upholstery:** Potential to create customizable seating options by allowing users to personalize the upholstery with different fabrics. - **Illusionary Furniture:** Innovative possibilities in designing furniture that creates eye-catching illusions and visual effects. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in the furniture manufacturing industry through the use of polycarbonate material and customizable upholstery. - **Interior Design:** Opportunity for disruption in the interior design industry by offering unique and illusionary furniture pieces. - **Textile Industry:** Potential to disrupt the textile industry by creating fabrics specifically designed for concealing and enhancing furniture structures. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Peaceful Geometric Hanging Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iko-hanging-chair.md) - [Illusory Disconnected Component Armchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fly-armchair.md) - [Gravity-Defying Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-isolounge-chair.md) - [Cubic Featherlight Seat Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/please-hold-up-chair.md) - [Fabric-Wrapped Rocking Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zhe-rocking-chair.md) - [Rope-Like Dynamic Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/caterpillar-lounge.md) - [Artfully Balanced Chair Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/halfway-serious.md) - [Sculptural Gravity Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floating-bench.md) - [Suspenseful Statement Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/edgeofyr.md)
