# Plant-Watering Benches The H2Pod Can Water Trees and Grass While You Relax By Michael Hines | Published 2010-09-17 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-h2pod References: [tuvie](http://www.tuvie.com/h2pod-portable-water-tank-increases-the-publics-amenity-of-the-park/) & [cobaltniche](http://www.cobaltniche.com/) Now you can sit on a hose without any painful repercussions, thanks to the H2Pod [bench](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/urban-bench) from CobaltNiche. This seat also doubles as a water tank, using [drip-feed watering](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plant-irrigation) to save drought-stricken trees and other vegetation. The best part about the H2Pod is that it would look great in any park. The design doesn't look like an iron eyesore and can comfortably seat one person. Saving trees while taking a load off sounds like a win to me. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.7/10 - Popularity: 46% | Activity: 28% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Innovative Seating:** The H2Pod bench presents an opportunity for companies to develop innovative seating options with dual functionality. - **Drought-resistant Solutions:** The drip-feed watering feature of the H2Pod bench is indicative of a growing need for drought-resistant watering solutions, which presents an opportunity for companies to provide environmentally-conscious solutions. - **Parks with Purpose:** The H2Pod bench's dual purpose sheds light on a trend for parks and public spaces to serve multiple purposes, providing opportunities for businesses to participate in sustainable urban development. ### Who This Affects Most - **Public Seating:** The H2Pod bench opens up opportunities for public seating providers to offer eco-friendly seating options. - **Landscaping and Irrigation:** The drip-feed watering system of the H2Pod bench highlights an opportunity for landscaping and irrigation companies to create products for drought-resistant and sustainable vegetation maintenance. - **Urban Development:** The H2Pod bench's dual purpose emphasizes the importance of sustainable urban development, presenting an opportunity for businesses in architecture, construction, and real estate to invest in environmentally conscious solutions that cater to multiple needs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Chic Self-Watering Garden Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glowpear-mini-bench.md) - [Self-Watering Desk Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/posha.md) - [Self-Watering Compact Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/patella-crescenda.md) - [Self-Watering Flowerpots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gropot.md) - [Naturalistic Self-Watering Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apot-selfwatering-planter.md) - [Smart Self-Watering Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tendril-1.md) - [Water Catch-Integrated Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hemisphere.md) - [AI-Powered Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leafypod.md) - [Spherical Self-Watering Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sweet-basil-selfwatering-globe.md)
