The music player has a completely [transparent outer case](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apple-clear-series) that allows for viewing of all the internal workings and thus puts its advanced technology in the spotlight. Powered by a pair of AA batteries or charged via a USB-C connection, the music player has a detailed interface and can be connected to the user's existing DAC to allow for hi-res audio access. 'The DEVICE' is accented by what appears to be a removable hard drive that could presumably be incorporated into a computer for loading with music or manipulating the interface. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.3/10 - Popularity: 72% | Activity: 66% | Freshness: 20% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Cyberpunk-inspired Aesthetics:** The industrial, cyberpunk-inspired aesthetic of 'The DEVICE' MP3 player presents an opportunity for disruptive innovation in the design and branding of consumer electronics. - **Transparent Technology:** The transparent outer case of 'The DEVICE' MP3 player showcases the internal workings, opening doors for disruptive innovation in transparent technology within the electronics industry. - **Hi-res Audio Access:** The ability of 'The DEVICE' MP3 player to connect to the user's existing DAC for hi-res audio access creates an opportunity for disruptive innovation in the audio technology industry. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Consumer Electronics:** The industrial design and transparent technology used in 'The DEVICE' MP3 player offer potential disruptive innovation opportunities in the consumer electronics industry. - **Electronics Manufacturing:** Manufacturers of electronic components and assemblies could explore disruptive innovation in transparent technology and industrial design to align with the cyberpunk-inspired trend exemplified by 'The DEVICE' MP3 player. - **Audio Technology:** The hi-res audio capabilities of 'The DEVICE' MP3 player present an opportunity for disruptive innovation in the audio technology industry to enhance the audio experience for consumers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Transparent Audio CD Players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clearframe-cd.md) - [Modernized Portable Music Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tl1-music-player.md) - [Cassette-Inspired Music Players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retro-audio-player.md) - [Transparent Japanese CD Players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beams-3.md) - [Multifunctional Compact Music Players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playdisc.md) - [Retro Transparent Cassette Players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/its-real.md) - [Transparent Vinyl Player Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/transparent-vinyl-player.md) - [Retrofuturistic Streaming Audio Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diy-streaming-audio-player.md) - [Vintage-Inspired Digital Audio Players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hires-player.md)
