It is interesting to keep tabs on the growth of the smart technology industry and how it is affecting people's home life; The Delirious Home design exhibit explores this new shift in daily living with a collection of [surreal furniture and objects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mise-en-abymes) that focus more on humor that streamlining people's lives in more efficient and convenient ways.

Created by a group of French industrial and interactive design students from Lausanne's [ECAL](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sponge-furniture) school, The Delirious Home exhibit recently opened during Milan Design Week. The students write, "Technology has become smart but without a sense of humor, let alone quirky unexpected behavior." So they introduced such behaviour in the form of a [spoon chasing a teacup](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tea-for-two-collection), soft cacti that giggle when touched and more.
