The 'Container Bar' in Austin, Texas is a unique space constructed using recycled shipping containers. The project is the result of collaboration between the North Arrow and Hendley | Knowles design studios

The two-storey design consists of shipping containers whose interiors have been given a new lease of life, and which have been arranged in such a way that they give rise to a variety of spaces which can be used in a multitude of ways.

The resulting units are arranged to provide for both open and closed spaces. A floating roof structure ensures that the spaces are protected from the elements, and also frames the structure to make it look more aesthetically correct.

The containers have been repurposed so well that from the inside, it's impossible to tell that they are in fact shipping containers.
