It is commissioned by a client with the vision of housing its collection of cars and wanted a space to highlight the range. Inside the space boasts a wide and open design and the exterior features a dark tonal palette. The [tensile structure](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hata) adds a mysterious aesthetic to the place and is meant to enable the client to "spend time with cars." The architect behind the project notes that “In contrast to a typical house with a built-in garage, the aim here was to blur the boundaries between people, cars, and rooms in a relaxed environment,” Image Credit: Cubo Design Architect ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.5/10 - Popularity: 76% | Activity: 44% | Freshness: 14% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Tensile Structure Holiday Homes:** There is an opportunity for architects and designers to create innovative, open and flexible holiday homes using tensile structures as a key element to deliver unique experiences and aesthetics - **Blurring Boundaries Between Interiors and Exteriors:** Designers can explore the potential of creating spaces that integrate the car collection into the main living area to create a seamless living experience that rethinks the traditional inhabitation of homes - **Integrating Art and Collector Items Into Homes:** With more private collectors seeking unique ways to showcase their collections, there are opportunities for designers and architects to merge everyday living with an exhibition concept that challenges traditional display ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Luxury Architecture and Design:** The luxury architecture and design industry can explore and experiment with the use of tensile structures to articulate a new type of living experience - **Automotive Industry:** There is potential for the automotive industry to diversify into the luxury property market by commissioning custom holiday homes that showcase their car collections - **Art and Collectibles Industry:** Collectors and museums in the art and other collectibles industry can collaborate with architects and designers to create unique and integrated exhibition spaces that merge living with art ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Traditional Japan-Honoring Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/c4l-house.md) - [Transparent Teardrop-Shaped Tents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yuko-nagayama-associates.md) - [Parking Lot-Transformed Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/octa-house.md) - [Inflatable House-Shaped Tents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-architecture-inflatable-tent.md) - [Experimental Shelter Tents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grayhus.md) - [Curved Surface Portuguese Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-house-within-a-few-lines.md) - [Fish Tank-Inspired Japanese Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nao-iwanari.md) - [Sustainable Cubic Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/appels-architekten.md) - [Castle-Inspired Cylindrical Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-del-tec.md)
