The conceptual seating solution is imagined with a sculpturally complex design that includes a slanted seating surface, a backrest made from [plywood](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mt-chair) and a series of architecturally-inspired supports. The base calls to mind the aesthetic of mid-century modern furniture pieces, while also highlighting a sense of simplicity borrowed from Japanese architecture principles. The 'Arch Chair' gives the impression that is can function like a [rocking chair](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oval-rocking-chair), but instead uses the curved base for visual intrigue. The chair maintains a minimalist design that's imagined in several color options ranging from bright and eye-catching to more laidback and subdued. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.3/10 - Popularity: 68% | Activity: 19% | Freshness: 12% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Structurally Complex Furniture:** Designing furniture with intricate and sculptural forms can enhance functionality and aesthetics. - **Minimalist Seating Solutions:** Creating visually appealing seating solutions with minimalist designs can promote simplicity and elegance. - **Architecturally-inspired Furniture:** Draw inspiration from various architectural styles to create visually intriguing furniture designs. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Furniture manufacturers can explore new designs and techniques to create seats with intricate and visually appealing structures. - **Hospitality and Interior Design:** Hospitality and interior design industries can use structurally complex chairs to add a focal point and visual interest to a room. - **Retail and E-commerce:** Retailers and e-commerce sites can offer unique and innovative seating solutions that capture the attention of consumers and promote sales. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Posh Pet-Friendly Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arch-chair-design.md) - [Elegantly Airy Outdoor Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arch-bench.md) - [Dynamically Fluid Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/archipen.md) - [Wavy Lounge Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wavy-lounge-chair.md) - [Liberating Sleek Office Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arba-chair.md) - [Chic Single-Piece Plywood Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/void-lounge-chair.md) - [Modern Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bow-chair.md) - [Nostalgic Bistro-Style Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aroma-chair.md) - [Architecture-Inspired Furniture Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/formfunctional-archifurniture.md)
