According to [wikipedia](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AquaDom), the **AquaDom** in Berlin, Germany, is a 25 meter tall cylindrical acrylic glass aquarium with built-in transparent elevator. It is the largest acrylic glass cylinder in the world, with a diameter of over 11 meters, built on a 9 meters tall concrete foundation. The beautiful aquarium is located at the Radisson SAS Hotel in Berlin-Mitte which contains a hotel, offices, a restaurant, and the aquarium Sea Life Center. The outside cylinder was manufactured on-site from four pieces; the inside cylinder for the elevator was delivered in one piece. Filled with about 900,000 liters of seawater, it contains about 2600 fish of 56 species. Daily feeding of the fish and the cleaning of the fish tank is performed by a pair of full-time divers. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.3/10 - Popularity: 60% | Activity: 90% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Cylindrical Aquariums:** The trend of constructing cylindrical aquariums provides a unique and visually stunning way to showcase aquatic life. - **Built-in Elevators:** The inclusion of built-in elevators in aquarium structures revolutionizes the viewing experience and accessibility for visitors. - **Transparent Elevators:** The use of transparent elevators in aquariums allows for an immersive and interactive experience for visitors. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Hospitality:** The hospitality industry can benefit from incorporating cylindrical aquariums with built-in elevators as a luxurious and unique attraction for guests. - **Tourism:** The tourism industry can capitalize on the trend of transparent elevators in cylindrical aquariums to enhance visitor experiences and attract more tourists. - **Aquariums:** Aquarium companies can explore the trend of constructing cylindrical aquariums with built-in elevators to create innovative and captivating aquatic display installations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Fish Tank-Inspired Japanese Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nao-iwanari.md) - [Rustic Ruin-Inspired Aquariums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-sea-of-cortez-research-center.md) - [Eye-Tracking Informational Aquariums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-aquarium.md) - [Modern Glass Home Elevators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-homelift.md) - [Salmon Scale-Inspired Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/salmon-eye.md) - [Kinetic Reef Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-tropical-aquarium.md) - [Interactive Kinetic Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-kinetic-sculptures.md) - [Urban Food Ecosystems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/living-sphere.md) - [AI Aquarium Water Changers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aquarium-water-changer.md)
