In contrast to many book case structures that span the width of office spaces and home interiors, this piece sits in an upright vertical position, much like a tree trunk. This atypical furniture piece is as much functional as it is durable. An assortment of [small cubes provide ample storage space](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/original-modern-shelving) for novels, publications or objects, depending on how one chooses to use the piece. It is also made of Canaletto walnut that moves in a circular 360 degree motion, enabling owners of The Albero to place it in varying positions. Interestingly, while this shape appears quite modern, it is actually a new take on the 1950s portfolio of architect Gianfranco Frattini. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.6/10 - Popularity: 70% | Activity: 30% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Vertical Bookshelf:** The rise of vertical bookshelves as a unique and space-saving storage solution. - **Customized Furniture:** The trend of personalized and customized furniture pieces that cater to individual needs and preferences. - **Modern Vintage Design:** The resurgence of vintage design elements with a modern twist, as seen in the Albero bookshelf. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Opportunity for furniture manufacturers to create innovative storage solutions for space-constrained living and working environments. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate vertical bookshelves as a statement piece and space-saving solution to optimize room layouts. - **Architecture:** Architects can draw inspiration from the modern vintage design of the Albero bookshelf to create unique and functional structures for both residential and commercial buildings. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Book-Storing Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookgroove-bookrack.md) - [Sculptural Bookshelves Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-bookshelf.md) - [Speaker-Inspired Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lloyd-tex.md) - [Twisting Donut-Shaped Bookshelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hullabaloo-bookshelf.md) - [Expandable Bookcase Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/burrow-index-bookcase.md) - [Room-Dividing Bookshelf Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frquence-shelf.md) - [Dynamic Geometric Bookshelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cheft.md) - [Dynamic Architecturally Strong Bookshelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dogma.md) - [Personality-Enhancing Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ordo-book.md)
