# Faux Pebble Floors Pachamama ‘Eclipse' Leather Rugs Look Like River Rocks By Elsa Blaine | Published 2009-01-27 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/textural-leather-area-rugs-pachamamas-circular-eclipse-collection References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2009/01/26/leather-rugs-from-pachamama/#more-3460) & [pacha-mama.net](http://www.pacha-mama.net/) Circles of fine Italian leather create these chic area rugs by Pachamama. The pieces in the collection called ‘Eclipse’ are modern, stylish and have a three-dimensional effect. The black version looks like flattened wet river rocks. Pachamama describes their circular floor covers this way: “There is something intrinsically divine and perfect about the circle, an almost magical geometrical form, with no beginning and no end, chosen by nature to shape nearly everything in the universe: heavenly bodies, planets, stars and galaxies.” As usual, I’m thinking practically—too many crevasses for dirt to gather and the standard waxy protective treatments for leather would make for an extremely slippery surface. However, they do look super sweet! ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.0/10 - Popularity: 64% | Activity: 47% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Leather Area Rugs:** Opportunity for creating innovative leather rugs that mimic natural elements. - **Three-dimensional Flooring:** Potential for designing rugs with a visually striking three-dimensional effect. - **Nature-inspired Flooring:** Possibility of creating flooring that mimics the natural environment, like river rocks. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Interior Design:** Opportunity for interior designers to offer unique and visually stunning leather area rugs. - **Luxury Home Decor:** Potential for luxury home decor brands to incorporate three-dimensional flooring into their product lines. - **Sustainable Flooring:** Possibility for sustainable flooring companies to create nature-inspired flooring options using eco-friendly materials. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Nature-Inspired Rocky Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pebble-rubble.md) - [Desert-Inspired Floor Coverings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dune-rug.md) - [70s-Inspired Plush Shag Rags](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/petra-rug-collection.md) - [Timeless Floor Rug Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sistine.md) - [Artful Versatile Rug Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nanimarquina.md) - [Exquisite Textured Rug Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/textured-rug.md) - [Gem-Inspired Illusion Rugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gem-rug-collection.md) - [Eye-Catching Designer Rugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/designer-rug.md) - [Slithering Serpent Floor Coverings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lorien-stern-snakes-rugs.md)
